物語の舞台は、亚洲区もっとも成功した作品の称号“覇権（ハケン）”を手にするため、亚洲区日夜熾烈な闘いが繰り広げられている日本のアニメ業界。そんな世界に飛び込んだ斎藤瞳は、監督デビュー作で憧れのスター監督・王子千晴と覇権を争うことになる。過去にメガヒット作品を生み出し天才として名を馳せる王子は、プロデューサーの有科香屋子とタッグを組み8年ぶりに監督復帰を果たすのだ。瞳は、くせ者プロデューサーの行城理や個性的な仲間たちとともに“ハケンアニメ”の称号を手にすべく奮闘を重ねる。
