2015年多伦多国际电影节纪录片单元观众选择奖，欧美2016年奥斯卡最佳纪录长片提名 讲述的则是乌克兰在2013-2014年所发生的一系列政局变动的事件。2013年，欧美乌克兰政府暂停了和欧盟的合作，宣布加强和俄罗斯的经济联系，这遭到了国内亲欧派的反对。人民走上街头，提出抗议，但是乌政府出动“金雕”特警部队，暴力驱散抗议人群，此举正式点燃这次乌克兰危机导火索。从2014年年底开始，乌克兰政局持续动荡，先后经历了前总统被弹劾、克里米亚公投等重大事件，局势一直动荡。
