大陆儿童陆非（刘慈航 饰）不幸患上白血病，老湿全家坠入痛苦的深渊，老湿正当要进行骨髓移植时，原先的志愿者因怀孕放弃捐赠。经媒介报道后，很多人自愿到医院供检，不幸的是竟无一人合适，就在这时，在台湾骨髓捐赠中心找到了相同的供体。此时的陆非因化疗免疫力已降到了极点，再不进行骨髓移植手术将有致命的危险。而台湾供者吴信勇（柯受良 饰）却是一名在押囚犯，医生高志远（任贤齐 饰）和孙欣欣（林心如 饰）几经做监狱方面的工作，终于令其同意捐髓。不料抽髓当天，天公不作美，机场关闭好几个小时，好不容易赶到香港，却又误了北京的飞机，陆非的家人和医生等得心急如焚……
