英国ITV开始根据英国女作家Val McDermid的破案小说Dr.Tony Hill中的故事Mermaids Singing和Shadows Rising改编的英国悬疑破案剧集。之后又由其他人续写，绝对后来在第四季度第二集Torment又改编自Val McDermid的Dr.Tony Hill中的故事The Torment of Others。Dr. Tony Hill 这个角色是个大学里面的法庭心理学家，绝对他一起与一位非常干练的女刑事探员Carol Jordan 合作破了一个又一个非常棘手的悬疑案件！

The body was found by his son-in-law Peter Rhodes, a local antiques dealer and the victim's wife was in London. When Fallon's doctor advises Morse that Henry didn't have the physical capability to hold a gun to his head, the police realize they may have a murder on their hands. When the police are told that the business arrangement between Fallon and Rhodes had fallen apart, they also have a suspect. Lewis is concerned that Morse is too close to Mrs. Fallon to be objective but in the end, the perpetrators are identified.
