即將超過適婚年齡的打擊樂演奏者一禾，小甜結識了鄰居大仁，小甜二人在PUB中因談心又喝醉而有了進一步的接觸。一禾的家人知道後，誤會一禾懷孕而力促二人結婚。在籌備婚禮的過程中，父親、祖母和大仁忙進忙出好似一家人，一禾反而被置身之外無法參與。事件進行中，一禾一方面思考自己走上婚姻之路的理由，一方面想到父親對自己的期望與不捨，一禾面臨著這「終身大事」帶來的矛盾心境.....在結婚當天，一禾終於決定逃婚，去自己真正嚮往的地方。

回复 :1914年夏天，出身于英国有产阶级家庭的年轻女子维芙去拜访英国牛津默顿大学的美国青年研究生和现代派诗人艾略特（简称汤姆）。他们一见钟情，很快就结婚了。汤姆和维芙在伦敦过着俭朴的生活。她对丈夫的写作十分支持，不仅提出修改意见，还充当了他的女秘书。由于工作过分劳累，维芙病倒了，汤姆经常发现她因为服药过量而陷入昏迷状态。这对青年夫妇在一起度过了最甜蜜幸福的时光。但随着汤姆的声誉和地位在不断提高，维芙对他产生了对抗心理，他们的感情日渐疏远。1922年，汤姆的诗集《荒原》出版了。在一次晚宴上，英国著名女作家伍尔芙竟然当着维芙的面向汤姆建议：如果维芙能够搬走，汤姆将好过得多了。后来汤姆感到越来越难以接近维芙，一位医学家告诉汤姆，维芙得的是一种类似“精神错乱”的神经失调症，于是他们将维芙禁闭起来。维芙于1947年6月22日死于精神病院。
