回复 :故事发生在一个名为NewWorld Online的大型多人在线虚拟现实游戏中，在友人的推荐之下，从来没有玩过游戏的菜鸟少女梅普露（本渡枫 配音）第一次踏入了游戏世界之中。因为缺乏游戏常识，在最初的技能点分配中，梅普露将所有的技能点都点在了防御上，因此在误打误撞之中成为了无论怎样的攻击也无法给她造成伤害的“肉盾”型角色。 在好友白峰理沙（野口瑠璃子 配音）的陪伴下，梅普露展开了自己的旅程。没有攻击力的梅普露很快就发现，自己在这个世界中，哪怕是一只等级为1的兔子都无法杀死，可同样的，因为她超群的防御力，等级比她高很多的敌人亦无法伤害到她分毫，这样的梅普露意外的成为了队伍之中不可或缺的重要存在。
