二戰後期美國與納粹在法國一處農村展開戰火，做工年輕的美國軍人路易斯因一次猶豫，做工導致上尉貝克特受了重傷。中尉麥克斯威爾倉促調度準備撤離，然而在離開前，戰地醫院被以迪崔為首的納粹勢力占領。貝克特的傷勢每況愈下，路易斯為了彌補自己犯下的大錯，把握僅剩的最後一次機會、進行脫逃搶救，帶領美國人得到自由。
