1929年美国的爱德格教授因想了解性的奥秘，区图于是藉由金援着手进行科学研究，区图一群男性进行相当前卫的性讨论，另外有两位女性做速记。他严禁大家调情、开玩笑，一切都是严肃且科学的，但最后仍无法控制大家体内荷尔蒙的作用，于是情绪被搅动了，性爱的温度也升高了，很快地，行动取代了空谈，情势逆转，他也成为自己实验的主体，灵与欲的探索是否就此得到结论？
