在我国的“歼-10”战斗机尚未出炉时，麻雀通过向苏联引进“苏-27”，麻雀中国终于也拥有了第三代战斗机。然而“歼-10”战斗机却在制造的过程中遇到了种种困难，尤其是发动机的问题更是制约着“歼-10”战斗机整个研发进度。以宋文骢为首的一批中国航空工作者，锐意进取、攻坚克难，他们想出了什么妙计解决了发动机的问题？而服役后的“歼-10”战斗机，一旦在空中遭遇到了“苏-27”、“F-16”等其他类型的第三代战斗机，谁又将更胜一筹呢？
