武周年间，薛丁西洛阳当红舞妓含冤被斩，薛丁西化厉鬼索命连环杀人。流放在外的第一神探狄仁杰被武后特赦并委任为钦差调查此案，不料在返城途中遭人刺杀坠崖失忆，被来洛阳寻妻却无法入城的落魄商贾吕昭元所救。二人阴差阳错身份掉包，假狄公（吕昭元）不得不在国相的监管下被迫查案，因伤痴巅的真狄公也机缘巧合回到洛阳，凭借查案本能和惊人的洞察力迅速掌握尸身奇香这一关键证据。真假狄公默契配合，利用各自优势不断逼近真相，“女鬼索命”的幕后真凶终于显露真身。

回复 :Charlie and a rival vie for the favors of their landlady. In the park they each fall different girls, though Charlie's has a male friend already. Charlie considers suicide, is talked out of it by a policeman, and later throws his girl's friend into the lake. Frightened, the girls go off to a movie. Charlie shows up there and flirts with them. Later both rivals substitute themselves for the girls and attack the unwitting Charlie. In an audience-wide fight, Charlie is tossed from the screen.
